LARRY POWERS is Chairman, President and CEO of The Genlyte Group Inc.
and President and CEO of Genlyte Thomas Group LLC. He was named to his
current positions in April 2000; from September 1998 to April 2000 he
was CEO and President of The Genlyte Group and President and CEO of
Genlyte Thomas. Prior to that, Mr. Powers was President and CEO of The
Genlyte Group Inc. from January 1994 to September 1998, and President,
US Operations and Executive Vice President, Genlyte. He has been
President, HID/Outdoor Division of Genlyte, President, Craftlite/Wide-
Lite Divisions of Genlyte, and President, Craftlite/Hadco. He has been
in the electrical/lighting industry since 1971. Mr. Powers is a member
of the Genlyte and Canlyte Boards of Directors, as well as a Board
member of the National Electrical Manufacturing Association. Other
organizations to which Mr. Powers belongs are the American Lighting
Association (Past President), IMARK Vendor Advisory Council, and the
National Association of Electrical Distributors Vendor Advisory Council.
He holds a BS degree from Brigham Young University and has completed a
number of management and leadership courses and programs. Profile
