KEVIN KERNAN Chief Executive Officer of Secure Software has 20 years
experience in sales and general management positions in the software
industry. Prior to joining Secure Software, Kevin spent 17 years at
Rational Software in a variety of senior sales, marketing, and business
development positions. Kevin joined Rational when it had less than 50
employees and was instrumental in its growth to 3,500 employees and more
than $650 million in revenue. Rational Software was purchased by IBM for
$2.1 billion in 2003. Prior to IBM's acquisition of Rational in February
2003, Kevin was the Vice President of Business Development at Rational
Software, responsible for all aspects of strategic partnering, mergers &
acquisitions, channel management, and enterprise sales. During his time
in this role, he executed agreements with Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett
Packard, Intel, Sun, Borland, and a host of industry leaders as Rational
responded to increasing customer demand for software development tools
and processes. Prior to managing the Rational Business Development
organization, Kevin was responsible for Rational's business in Asia
Pacific. In this capacity, he opened offices in capital cities
throughout the region, launched distribution relationships, and more
than tripled Rational's revenue in less than three years. As the
Director of Commercial Operations at Rational prior to living in
Australia, Kevin pioneered the commercial focus at Rational with
professional services in the areas of software process, software
architecture, and the application of sound software engineering
principles to the production of business critical applications. In
addition, he led the cross functional team at Rational responsible for
the launch and introduction of the industry leading Rational Rose
modeling technology. Kevin previously held Sales and Management roles at
