Keith Ainsworth – Com Dev International Ltd (cdv.to)

KEITH R. AINSWORTH is President and CEO of COM DEV International Ltd. Mr. Ainsworth received his education at the Cambridge College of Technology. He studied electrical and electronic engineering under the sponsorship of Standard Telecommunications Laboratories Ltd. Until his graduation he was employed as a Research Assistant at STL, where he worked on advanced technologies for both commercial and military communication systems. He then joined Pye Telecommunications as a microwave engineer, where he was part of a team developing a new generation of microwave links. In 1975 he emigrated to Canada to join COM DEV. In 1977 he became Manager of Satellite Communications and, in 1983, Vice President of Satellite and Defense Programs. He was appointed President of COM DEV in 1990 and since 1995 had overall responsibility for developing COM DEV's non-space product businesses, particularly in the areas of remote sensing and wireless communications. In 1998 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of COM DEV International, and in June 1999 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Ainsworth is a Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, served as Chairman of Radarsat International, and served for five years as Vice Chair of the Board of Governors for Conestoga College.
