Katherine K. Clark – Landmark Systems Corporation (ldmk)

KATHERINE K. CLARK is President and Chief Executive Officer of Landmark Systems Corporation, a company she co-founded in 1983 with Patrick H. McGettigan, Chairman of the Board. Landmark provides software products and services to help manage and optimize the performance of large-scale computer systems. Today, Landmark has 300 employees worldwide with headquarters in Reston, Virginia and has sales offices throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Revenues for 1998 were more than $51 million. Highlights of Ms. Clark's career include: co-authoring the company's first software product; developing an international distribution channel that accounts for a large percentage of Landmark's revenue; establishing the industry's first unconditional customer satisfaction guarantee; Expanding Landmark's product line into a complete suite of performance solutions for the enterprise and; taking the company public in 1997. Ms. Clark holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from George Mason University. She actively supports George Mason University and is the Chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council. In 1996, Ms. Clark was recognized as George Mason Alumnus of the Year and she received the KPMG Peat Marwick High Tech Entrepreneur Award. In 1998, she was honored by the Northern Virginia Technology Council with the Earle C. Williams Leadership in Technology Award and the Ernst & Young Software Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Ms. Clark currently is a member of the Executive Committee of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce where she serves as Vice Chair for membership, and was recently appointed to the position of Vice Chairperson for a congressional commission studying the Twenty-First Century Workforce. She serves on the Board of Directors for ENSCO, Inc., and for WLR Foods, Inc. and is also a popular speaker at technical forums and throughout the national and international business community.
