KAREN M. SPAUN, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc., initially joined Meadowbrook in 1998,
as Director of Investor Relations, and went on to hold the position of
Vice President of Finance and Accounting. In May 2002, she was named
Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. In May 2003, she was
named Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Spaun began her professional career
at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as an Auditor. She
later held the position of Director of Financial Accounting at Citizens
Insurance Company of America, where she specialized in financial
reporting, including both SEC and statutory reporting. Prior to joining
Meadowbrook, Ms. Spaun was Controller at First Mercury Financial
Corporation. Ms. Spaun is a former President of the Michigan Chapter of
NIRI (National Investor Relations Institute). She is a graduate of Ohio
University (BBA, 1986; major-Accounting), which she attended on a
swimming scholarship. Ms. Spaun is a Certified Public Accountant. She is
a former Secretary of the accounting honor society, Beta Alpha PSI, and
a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Profile
