JOSEPH M. GRANT is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Texas
Capital Bancshares, Inc., Chairman of Texas Capital Bank and
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Direct. He has more
than 30 years of banking experience. He began his banking career
with Citibank in New York. Prior to joining Texas Capital, he was
CFO and Executive Vice President of EDS and Chairman and CEO of
Texas American Bancshares, Inc., the sixth largest bank holding
company in Texas at that time. Prior to that he was Senior Vice
President and Economist of Texas Commerce Bank in Houston. Mr.
Grant has authored two books, The Development of State Chartered
Banking in Texas (1978) and The Great Texas Banking Crash: An
Insider's Account (1954). Mr. Grant has a PhD in Finance and
Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA in
Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA in
