Joseph Clayton – Sirius Satellite Radio Inc (siri)

JOSEPH P. CLAYTON is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc. Prior to joining Sirius Satellite Radio as President and Chief Executive Officer, in November 2001, Mr. Clayton was Vice Chairman of Global Crossing Ltd., a Bermuda-based company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In this role, he contributed to the strategic development of the corporation by identifying synergistic business partnerships, alliances and potential acquisitions. Mr. Clayton reported directly to the CEO of Global Crossing. In addition, he also served as President and CEO of Global Crossing's North American region. Before assuming his new role at Global Crossing, Mr. Clayton was President and CEO of Frontier Communications, a leading provider of integrated communications services nationwide. Mr. Clayton drove the strategic vision of Frontier while working as a hands-on leader of Frontier's executive management team. On September 28, 1999, Frontier merged with Global Crossing. Prior to joining Frontier, he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the Americas and Asia for Thomson Multi Media, the largest electronics company in the United States. A seasoned leader in the consumer electronics industry, he has more than 24 years of marketing, operations and sales experience. His previous experience in the consumer electronics industry includes numerous management positions for RCA, GE, and Thomson, most notably Senior Vice President of the Television Division, Vice President of Video Product Management, and General Manager of National Accounts. Mr. Clayton earned an MBA in Marketing and Management from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and is a magna cum laude graduate with a BA in Business Administration from Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky.
