JOSEPH BOSSONG, Director, Healthcare Investment Banking, joined
Wachovia Securities' investment banking group in February 2000
and is responsible for the firm's medical technology investment
banking practice. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Bossong was Needham &
Company's senior medical technology research analyst. At Needham
& Company, Mr. Bossong's coverage universe focused on medical
imaging, cardiovascular medicine, orthopedics and neurology. In
1999, Mr. Bossong was ranked first overall among analysts for
earnings estimates and recognized as a Wall Street Journal All-
Star analyst in medical devices. Prior to Needham & Company, Mr.
Bossong was employed by PaineWebber Incorporated in that firm's
healthcare investment banking business. Mr. Bossong received his
Bacholor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Davidson College in
1985. He received a Master's of Business Administration degree
from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in
1992, concentrating in Accounting and Finance. He is also a
