JONATHAN BOWER – LEXIA LEARNING SYSTEMS INC

JONATHAN BOWER is President & Chief Executive Officer of Lexia Learning Systems Mr. Bower brings nearly 20 years of experience in the education and high tech communities to Lexia Learning Systems. During his tenure with Lexia, Mr. Bower has helped Lexia increase sales by over 1,400% and maintained the company's profitability while overhauling Lexia's line of reading software and professional development services. Mr. Bower began his education studies as a participant, and then as an instructor, in Stanford's Programs in Development Education and Global Development in 1979-1981. After working overseas, he left the field and joined the high tech community in 1983. Since re-entering the education industry, Mr. Bower has focused on the fields of reading skills acquisition and cognitive development. He has spoken at numerous conferences including the International Dyslexia Association, the Learning Disabilities Network, Technology + Learning, and the Florida Reading Association on subjects relating to reading, learning disabilities, and technology. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Mass Bay Community College. Mr. Bower has extensive experience in developing and managing small and mid- sized companies. Prior to joining Lexia, Mr. Bower led the Medical Software division of Kurzweil Applied Intelligence and served as President of RTJ Medical Software. He also served as Vice President Strategic Operations for Knoll International and as a consultant for McKinsey and Associates. Mr. Bower holds a M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. in Development Process from Stanford University where he also participated in the Ph.D. program in Development Education. Profile
