JOHN PORTER is Executive Chairman of Redbus Interhouse, a leading
network of neutral co-location facilities in Europe. It is quoted on the
London Stock Exchange and has a techMARK listing. He was appointed
Chairman of the Telos Group in 1992. Telos specialises in enterprise
integration: the use of meta-catalogues to fuse legacy data with Web
enabled business processes. Vertical industry focuses include:
insurance, healthcare, government, financial services. Based in Ashburn
Virginia (near Washington Dulles) the company has 1000 associates, and
is privately held. In 1985 he became Chairman of VeriFone Inc., the
leading manufacturer of credit card verification equipment based in
Redwood City California. He participated as a Director until VeriFone
was sold to Hewlett Packard in 1997. John Porter is a founder and
Director of the Grandvision group, the largest superoptical retailer in
Europe (Grand Optical, La Generale d'optique, Vision Express & Photo
Service). John Porter is a director of Algol spa, quoted on EASDAQ, the
leading Network equipment distributor in Italy. He was also an early
investor in Demon Internet which was acquired by Scottish Telecom. He
is a Barclay Fellow of Templeton College, Oxford and serves on the
Advisory Council, Graduate school of Business, Stanford. He is a
