JAMES M. SAUNDERS has been President, and Chief Executive Officer of
Great Northern Exploration Ltd. since its inception in August 2001. From
July 1997 to April 2001, he was Founder, President and CEO of Ionic
Energy Inc. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President, Chief
Operating Officer and a Director of Barrington Petroleum Ltd. A
Professional Engineer, Mr. Saunders graduated from the University of New
