JAMES M. BURKE is co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Secretary and Director of publicly held Eateries, Inc., and its 26 state, 76-unit chain of Garfield's restaurants, Garcia's Mexican restaurants and Pepperoni Grill Italian bistros. Mr. Burke and Eateries' Chairman and CEO, Dr. Vincent F. Orza, have grown Eateries, Inc. from an idea to over $100 million in annual sales. Mr. Burke and Eateries, Inc. were recipients of the '2000 Vision Award' from the Exchange Club of Oklahoma City; 1998 ranked number one among 'Oklahoma's Top 50 Publicly Traded Companies;' were finalists for Neighborhood Restaurant Awards by the National Restaurant Association for work in the community; were voted one of the 'Top 100 Best Small Companies in America' in May 1994 by Businessweek magazine; and were recipients of the 1993 'Blue Chip Enterprise Award' from the US Chamber of Commerce and Nation's Business magazine and the 19th Fastest Growing Small Public Company in America by Inc. magazine.
