JACOB Z. LARSEN is a Director in Lucent Technologies' Optical Area
Networking Venture in Holmdel, New Jersey. He is responsible for the
market assessment and partner programs for Lucent's next generation
optical storage networking products. He has previously held positions in
strategic planning in Lucent. He holds a BA in International Business
from The Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark and an MBA
from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover,
New Hampshire. Mr. Larsen has published articles on a number of optical
topics including Metro Optical Networks in the Bell Labs Technical
