J. Randall Nelson – Equidyne Corporation (injx.ob)

J. RANDALL NESLON has been Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Equidyne Systems, Inc. since January 1, 2000. As of July 31, 2000, he will also be Chairman of the Board. Mr. Nelson provides executive leadership and direction on the day-to-day operations and building of the Equidyne Team. Mr. Nelson has just added 50 sales representatives to the company and is in the process of launching the company's new needle-free device, Injex_30. Mr. Nelson has key relationships in the US diabetes business and has been able to attract a recent new board member, Dr. James Gavin, Past President of the American Diabetes Association. Prior to joining Equidyne he was President and Chief Executive Officer of LXN Corporation from 1998-1999. Mr. Nelson positioned the company to go public and attracted investment banking firms of Goldman Sachs, DLJ, and Volpe for Initial Public Offering. Mr. Nelson was Director, Marketing Plans, US Diabetes Care with Eli Lilly & Company from 1978 to 1998. He served as Chairman for the Industry Advisory Committee for the American Diabetes Association and served on the Corporate Advisory Board for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He was Director, Sales, North Central Region, with Eli Lilly from 1990 to 1993. Mr. Nelson's other Eli Lilly experience includes: New Product Planning Manager, 1989 to 1990; Hospital Plans Manager, 1987 to 1989; Pricing Manager, 1986 to 1987; Sales Manager, Dista and Lilly Hospital Sales, 1983 to 1986; Marketing Associate, New Product Planning and Hospital Plans, 1981 to 1983 and Sales Representative, Retail/Hospital (University of South Florida), 1978 to 1981. Mr. Nelson graduated from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management; Duke University-Fuqua School of Business; Harvard University Babson Executive MBA Program; University of Pennsylvania, Wharton Graduate School of Management, Long-Term Strategic Planning; Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy; Samford University, School of Pharmacy, Bachelor's of Science, Pharmacy.
