INVESTING IN REITs: BARCLAY JONES III – ISTAR FINANCIAL

BARCLAY G. JONES III became Executive Vice President ' Investments of iStar Financial in March 2000 when iStar Financial merged with ACRE Partners. Mr. Jones was a principal at ACRE Partners LLC, a leading real estate investment firm specializing in investing in and developing real property assets for corporations using the corporate net lease or sale-leaseback financing structure. From 1982 to 1998 Mr. Jones served in a variety of capacities including Vice Chairman and Chief Acquisitions Officer of W.P. Carey & Co., Inc., one of the nation's largest real estate investment banks, where he was responsible for originating in excess of $2 billion of sale-leaseback financing and in excess of $1 billion of mortgage placements. During his tenure at Carey, the firm grew from fewer than 10 employees to over 70 and from approximately $100 million in assets to over $2.5 billion.
