Glen R. Easthope – The General Store (gsic)

GLEN R. EASTHOPE is CEO, Director and Founder of The General Store. Mr. Easthope began his business career at age 18 in a mobile catering business in Calgary called Easthope's Catering. He began the business with one truck and operated it from his home with his wife making all of the food. He established a warehouse and invited other drivers from the competition to operate their own trucks as owner/operators. Independent Caterers of Calgary was established, which manufactured the products necessary for the owner/operators from a wholesale kitchen. Within five years, the company's annual sales were over $3 million, and 27 trucks were operating from the warehouse. After building and then selling other commercial interests, and utilizing many of the successful ideas from previous businesses, Mr. Easthope began developing 'The General Store'. The concept was spawned after spending many hours with his wife walking the endless aisles of a mega-supermarket. He felt that there had to be an easier and more efficient way to buy groceries. Mr. Easthope is responsible for all aspects of the company's day to day activities. Profile
