Frederick Willetts Iii – Cooperative Bankshares Inc (coop)

FREDERICK (RICK) WILLETTS, III, joined Cooperative Bank (formerly Cooperative Savings and Loan Association) in 1972 as a Management Trainee and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board, President and Director (elected to Board 1976). He attended University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, graduated from Guilford College (BA-History) in 1972 and Graduate School of Savings and Loan, Indiana University, 1982. Mr. Willetts served in the U. S. Coast Guard from 1969-1970. He is currently a Director for America's Community Bankers and a Member of the Government Affairs Committee, America's Community Bankers. Mr. Willets previously was Chairman of the North Carolina Bankers Associations, and Thrift Institutions Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Board; President-Southeastern Conference, US Savings and Loan League; Vice- Chairman-Legislative Committee, N.C. League of Savings Institutions; Member - Legislative Committee, U S Savings and Loan League; Director- N.C. Alliance of Community Financial Institutions and Director-Community Bankers Association of North Carolina.
