Fred Lampropoulos – Merit Medical Systems (mmsi)

FRED P. LAMPROPOULOS is Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Merit Medical systems. He has been in the medical device business over 20 years. He is the co-inventor on more than 70 patents of devices used in the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of cardiovascular disease. In June 1987, Mr. Lampropoulos formed Merit Medical Systems, Inc., whose products specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and radiological diseases. Since 1987, Merit Medical has grown to just over 1,000 employees and expects to post revenues of approximately $100 million this year. The company has expanded from a small manufacturing facility in Salt Lake to two separate local facilities totaling over 230,000 square feet. It also has developed separate manufacturing facilities in Santa Clara, California, Angleton, Texas, and Galway, Ireland, which enables Merit to provide quality subcomponents for its products and better distribution to foreign accounts. The company has achieved a world leadership position in most of the markets in which it participates and is renowned for its product innovation, customer service and product quality.
