Firoz Rasul – Ballard Power Systems Inc (bldp)

FIROZ RASUL has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ballard Power Systems since May 1999, and prior to that he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Ballard Power Systems since December 1988. Prior to joining Ballard, Mr. Rasul was the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for MDI, Mobile Data International, from 1981 until its takeover by its largest competitor, Motorola, in September 1988. Prior to joining MDI, Mr. Rasul worked with Black & Decker, and General Foods Corporation in Europe. Mr. Rasul is the President of the Ismaili Council for Canada. He has previously held positions as the Chairman of Focus Humanitarian Assistance Canada, an international emergency relief agency; as a Director for BC Telecom; Director for Royal Bank Capital Management; a member of the National Committee of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, and as a Board member for Science World of British Columbia. Mr. Rasul has a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom and a Master's degree in Business Administration from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
