STEPHEN A. BLUMENTHAL is a Vice President of Schwab Capital Markets and Trading, specializing in banking and financial services for the Washington Research Group. Previously, he practiced law in Washington, DC. He specialized in providing political analysis and representing clients before Congress and federal regulatory agencies. Mr. Blumenthal has over two decades of legislative and legal experience, having served as a Republican Counsel of the Commerce Committee of the US House of Representatives, serving as both a Minority and later Majority Counsel. Prior to that, he was associated with the Securities Industry Association in Washington, DC as Vice President and Director of Regulator Relations. Mr. Blumenthal began his career as an Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the National Association of Securities Dealers.
