European Technology Stocks: Peter Whiting – Ubs Warburg

PETER WHITING is Director of pan-European software research at UBS Warburg. Mr Whiting holds a degree in Physics (specialising in Electronics, Modern Optics and Laser Physics) from Oxford University. He began work in the City in 1987 (one month before the Crash) with Panmure Gordon, covering a wide variety of what were then called capital goods companies. He has gradually covered a higher proportion of technology companies, leading to his current role specialising in software. Prior to joining UBS Warburg in January 2000 he was head of smaller companies research at Williams de Broe. His most recent IPO experience was the flotation of Zen Research, a company that develops and licenses intellectual property related to very high speed optical disk drives. Profile
