ROGER CHAPLIN is a Mining Analyst at Canaccord Capital. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Maths and Statistics in 1969, and further gained an MBA in 1979. He began his career in mining when he joined Gold Fields of South Africa in Johannesburg as a mining analyst, after completing the MBA. Returning to the UK in 1987 he joined Laing & Cruickshank, where he broadened his research to cover international mining. He moved with Tim Hoare from Credit Lyonnais Laing (CL took over Laing & Cruickshank in 1989) in 1993, to help set up T. Hoare & Co and now leads the team of mining analysts in the London office. T. Hoare & Co has since merged fully with its Canadian partner, Canaccord Capital Corporation. Profile
