Eric Janszen – Bluesocket Inc

ERIC JANSZEN is Chief Executive Officer of Bluesocket Inc. He brings more than 20 years' experience in product, marketing, sales and financial management to his role as CEO. Prior to joining Bluesocket, he was Managing Director of Osborn Capital LLC. While he was at Osborn, the angel investment fund managed a portfolio of 20 technology startups and increased its net asset value from $8 million in 1998 to a peak of $100 million. Mr. Janszen participated in seven liquidity events of Osborn funded companies; these included two company sales to Cisco, one to Microsoft, one to Nortel and one to EMC. Two portfolio companies, Arrowpoint and Interliant, conducted IPOs. Prior to his role as a venture capitalist, Mr. Janszen held management positions at Cayman Systems, CenterLine Software, eRoom (formerly Instinctive), Media 100 and Stratus Computer. He has knowledge of a broad range of technologies, including Internet infrastructure, IP networking, digital video, operating systems, and programming languages. A veteran of five startup companies, he also currently serves on the advisory board of Gold Wire Technology. Educated at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, he serves as a member of the Board of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council and was a 2003 Finalist for the Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award. A frequent speaker at industry events in the Americas, Europe and Asia, Mr. Janszen has been the subject of numerous articles and profiles in the business and technology media, notably The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, USA Today and the BBC.
