EMMANUEL A. KAMPOURIS is Chairman, President and Chief Financial Officer
of American Standard Companies Inc. His career with American Standard
began 30 years ago. He joined the company's plumbing products subsidiary
in Greece as a general manager of manufacturing in 1966. While working
for this subsidiary, he progressed through its managerial ranks to
become its managing director in 1970. In 1979, he was made a vice
president and group executive of American Standard's Building Products
sector at the corporate level. Mr. Kampouris was named senior vice
president of this sector in 1984. In 1989, Mr. Kampouris was elected
president and chief executive officer of American Standard Inc. He
became chairman of the company's Board of Directors in 1993. Mr.
Kampouris holds an M.A. in Law from Oxford University, Oxford, England
and received a degree in Ceramic Technology from North Staffordshire
College of Technology, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Profile
