EDWARD J. PETTINELLA is President and Chief Executive Officer of Home
Properties, Inc. He was in the banking/financial services industry for
28 years. He started his banking career in 1973 with Rochester Community
Savings Bank. His early background included retail banking, financial
analysis, and investment and lending portfolio management. After
Rochester Community Savings Bank went public in 1986, he took the roles
of Chief Financial Officer from 1987 to 1992 and Chief Operating Officer
from 1993 to 1997. After the acquisition of Rochester Community Savings
Bank in 1997 by Charter One Bank, he was named President of New York
State Operations for Charter One Bank and also worked with the executive
team on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Pettinella has been on numerous
Boards in upstate New York, including the YMCA of Greater Rochester,
Lifetime Healthcare Companies, State University at Geneseo, Geneseo
Foundation, Syracuse University School of Business, Rochester Chamber of
Commerce, United Way of Greater Rochester, Rochester Economic
Development Corporation, Visiting Nurse Service, and the Memorial Art
Gallery. He holds an undergraduate degree from Geneseo State University
and a Master's degree from Syracuse University. Mr. Pettinella accepted
the position of Executive Vice President for Home Properties in February
2001 and was named President and CEO as of January 1, 2004, to lead the
sixth largest publicly traded apartment company in the US. Profile

celebrating our tenth anniversary this year. Our company
