Ed Szofer – Marchfirst Inc (mrch)

ED SZOFER, Chief Development Officer for marchFIRST, directs all corporate development, including business growth, through expansion of the firm's global office network, geographic and general business expansion via mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment of strategic alliances and specialized business partnerships. As a member of the company's Executive Committee, he is a key contributor to the company's strategic direction. Mr. Szofer is also a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Szofer joined Whittman-Hart, which merged with USWeb/CKS to create marchFIRST, in 1985 as the company's tenth employee, and served in a variety of positions before becoming President in 1997. As Director and then Vice President of Consulting and Technical Services, he managed the explosive growth of Whittman-Hart's core business. As Chief Operating Officer, he managed consulting and branch- office operations, major client relationships and strategic planning. Throughout his career at Whittman-Hart, Mr. Szofer was instrumental in helping the company achieve its goal of helping businesses use technology to work more intelligently and compete more effectively. Mr. Szofer came to Whittman-Hart from Arthur Andersen and Co., where he led various consulting and application development projects.
