EARL M. COLLIER, JR., is Executive Vice President, Genzyme Corporation;
and President, Genzyme Biosurgery. Mr. Collier joined Genzyme full time
in 1997, but his relationship with Genzyme dates to 1990, when he began
working with Genzyme as an outside lawyer. Prior to Genzyme, Mr. Collier
was President of Vitas Healthcare Corp., the United States' largest
provider of hospice services. For many years, Mr. Collier was a partner
at Hogan & Hartson, Washington, DC. He also served as Deputy
Administrator for the Health Care Financing Administration in Baltimore,
MD, during the Carter Administration. Mr. Collier sits on the Boards of
CareTools, Inc., and Beth Abraham Hospital. Mr. Collier earned an AB at
Yale University and a JD at the University of Virginia Law School. Profile
