Douglas Steiner – Versus Technologies Inc (v.to)

DOUGLAS E. STEINER is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Versus Technologies, Inc. Mr. Steiner began his career in Retail Sales at Dominion Securities in 1980 and his responsibilities included equity research and retail marketing until 1982. Upon completion of his Master's Degree, he returned to the firm in 1985 as a professional trader to do hedge trading for the firm's book using personally developed software. Mr. Steiner became Vice President in 1987 and was appointed a Director in 1989, responsible for proprietary quantitative strategies and equity derivatives. Additional responsibilities included design and implementation of equity trading systems for the firm. He was co-designer of the Toronto 35 Index and served as Governor of the Toronto Futures Exchange from 1987 until 1992. Mr. Steiner is on the Advisory Board of the Toronto Community Foundation and is a member of the Investment Committee of the Workplace Safety Insurance Board of Ontario. He received his BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1978 and an MBA from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland in 1983, where he wrote his thesis on machine analysis of foreign exchange arbitrage.
