DOUGLAS G. BLAIR is the Chairman and CEO of Alta Genetics, Inc. Prior to
joining Alta Genetics he was the Director of AltaPon Genetics, The
Netherlands, 1996 and Co-Chairman, Canadian Sectoral Advisory Group on
International Trade, Agriculture, Food and Beverage, 1995 to 1998. In
1968, he founded Western Breeders Service in Balzac, Alberta. He is also
a former Sire Analyst for BCAI Center, Milner, B.C., 1996. Mr. Blair's
professional affiliations are numerous and over the years he has had the
following distinctions: member, Canada's Agri Food & Marketing Council,
February 1997 to 1998; Past President, Canadian Association of Animal
Breeders, Canadian Livestock Exporters Association, Canadian Embryo
Exporters Association; member of the Agricultural Institute of Canada,
the Canadian Society of Animal Science and of Canada's National History
Society. He is also the recipient of several awards including the
Canadian Commemorative Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Canada -
1993, the Canadian Export Achievement Award - 1987 and the Pinnacle
Award for Outstanding Business Success - 1986. Mr. Blair is a graduate
of the University of British Columbia with the degrees of BSA and P.Ag.
