Donald Macdonald – Macdonald Hotels Plc (mdh.l)

DONALD MACDONALD is a Founding Director and Chief Executive of Macdonald Hotels Plc. Establishing the company in 1990, he has overseen its growth from an initial two hotels to operating almost 80 hotels and resorts in the UK and Spain. He has been instrumental in differentiating the group from others in the sector through development of four distinct revenue streams - owned hotels, managed hotels, a joint-venture resort business and equity-managed developments. Mr. Macdonald has over 30 years experience in the hotel industry having worked his way through the ranks to his current position. Before founding Macdonald Hotels, he spent almost 20 years with Stakis Plc, one of the UK's best known hotel groups (which was bought over by Hilton International), where he ultimately headed.
