DONALD J. EATON has been Chief Executive Officer of Oculex
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since September 1999. His extensive professional
experience has been focused on pharmaceutical management, including new
drug submission and approval processes plus negotiating numerous
strategic corporate alliances. Previously, he was the founder of
Mimetex, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on pain management
and women's health care, where he served as Chairman and CEO from the
company's inception in 1992. Mr. Eaton was also the founder of Summa
Care, Inc., a developer of dermatological products, and served as CEO
and President from the company's inception in 1987 to 1991. From 1984 to
1986, Mr. Eaton served as CEO and President of Endotherapeutics, Inc., a
medical device company, which developed the disposable trocar for
laparoscopy and other surgical applications. From 1982 to 1984, he
served as CEO and President of Mycogen Corporation, an ag-biotechnology
company. Mr. Eaton received his BS and JD degrees from Santa Clara
