DONALD COLVIN joined Atmel in 1995 as Chief Financial Officer of the
Atmel-ES2 subsidiary and was promoted to Vice President Finance and
Chief Financial Officer of Atmel in March 1998. Before joining Atmel
through the company's acquisition of ES2, Mr. Colvin spent nine years
with Motorola Inc., in Europe in various financial positions. He left
Motorola in 1985 to join ES2 as Financial Director for France. He became
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ES2 in 1991. Mr. Colvin
holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde,
