DENNY WARE – KINETIC CONCEPTS INC (KCI)

DENNY O. WARE is the president and chief executive officer of Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (KCI). Headquartered in San Antonio, KCI is a global company that develops and markets advanced therapeutic systems designed to improve wound healing and reduce pulmonary and circulatory complications associated with patient immobility. Before joining KCI in April of 2000, Denny was president and CEO of Boehringer Mannheim Corporation, a market leader in medical diagnostic equipment. He joined Boehringer in 1972 as Vice President of Technical Affairs of DePuy, the company's Orthopedic Division. He later held senior management positions in the Diagnostic Division and became President and CEO of Boehringer Mannheim's North American operations in 1997. Denny has an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University. He sits on the boards of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), DynoMed and the Child Advocates of San Antonio (CASA) as well as the Alamo Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. TWST: Could you begin with a brief historical sketch of Kinetic Concepts

and a picture of the things you're doing now?

Mr. Ware: Our company was founded in 1976 by Dr. James Leininger,
