Dennis Segers – Matrix Semiconductor Inc

DENNIS L. SEGERS is Chief Executive Officer and President of Matrix Semiconductor, Inc., and has served on Matrix's Board of Directors since 1999. Prior to joining Matrix full time, Mr. Segers served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Products Group at Xilinx where he is credited with growing a multi-billion dollar business. Among other successes, Mr. Segers oversaw the development and introduction of the Virtex family of FPGAs, the most successful programmable logic family in the industry's history. In April 2000, he was elected to the Xilinx Board of Directors. A 25-year industry veteran, Mr. Segers began his career at Mostek Corporation as a Product Development Engineer for Mostek's 16K DRAMs. In 1986, National Semiconductor (formerly Fairchild) hired Mr. Segers to rebuild and refocus a large product development organization introducing advanced BiCMOS memory ICs. He was promoted to Product Line Director for the High Performance Memory Group before leaving in 1988 to join a startup, Summit Micro Circuits, as President and co-Founder. Summit specialized in contract design of high performance memory products and was profitable from its inception. In 1990, Benchmarq Microelectronics acquired Summit and Mr. Segers served as a Vice President and General Manager for three years before moving to Xilinx. Mr. Segers graduated from Texas A&M University and holds four US patents.
