DAVID S. YOUNG is Chairman, Chief Scientific Officer and Founder
of ARIUS Research Inc. Dr. Young received his Doctor of Medicine
degree from the University of Toronto in 1990, then returned to
complete his Master of Science in 1996. Dr. Young has been a
clinical associate in the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at
Michael's Hospital in Toronto since 1997. Dr. Young began his
research career studying the phenomenon of xenograft rejection in
cardiac transplantation and has come to understand that
transplant rejection and cancer immunology are closely related;
just as the body's defences must be suppressed to enable
acceptance of foreign tissue, they must also be boosted to help
combat malignancy. As a clinician, Dr. Young appreciated how
surgery could be personalized and adapted to individual needs and
has long been frustrated by the 'one-size-fits-all' nature of
most drugs on the market. ARIUS will be dedicated to the
proposition that individualized drug therapy is not only possible
but necessary. Profile
