DAVID TOOMEY-WILSON is President of Market Data Services Ltd. In 1974,
he was asked to head up the Practica Computers Plc sales team by the
Chairman of Practica. Practica was the author of a suite of accounting
software which ran on Data General and Altos mini computers. In 1983 Mr.
Toomey-Wilson was asked to join Emulex Inc. as Sales Manger for the UK
and Scandinavia with responsibility for the sales of the Emulex range of
PC-compatible hardware through a network of resellers and distributors.
In 1984 he was promoted to European Sales Manager with responsibility
for the Emulex range of PC, SCSI and VME compatible products, working
through an expanded network of resellers and distributors as well as
local offices in Paris, Munich, Milan and Stockholm. In addition he
worked with a number of European computer manufacturers such as Siemens,
Ericsson, Nokia, Olivetti and Bull to establish high-volume long-term
OEM relationships. In 1988 he joined Sintrom Datanet Ltd., a division of
Sintrom Plc, as Sales Director. He established a network of
distributors across Europe and in the USA to market and support Sintrom
Datanet's range of network bridges and routers as well as the unique
Network Quality Analyser, a breakthrough product in network management
tools. As the company's product line grew, his responsibilities expanded
to include management of product development, marketing and
telemarketing in addition to sales. In 1991 Mr. Toomey-Wilson joined
Digital Networks International Limited (DNI) as Sales Director, the
third employee. He personally sold the HDE system to many Fortune 500
companies and built a network of resellers in France, Switzerland and
the US. In March 1995, DNI Founder Ben Mendoza, recognising the need for
software to manage the costs of market data feeds in financial
institutions, left DNI to establish Market Data Services Limited. In
July 1995, Mr. Toomey-Wilson also left DNI to join Mr. Mendoza in his
new venture. Mr. Toomey-Wilson's initial responsibility was to establish
a US operation to service the major market for the products in New York
and the rest of North America. By August 1995 a US office had been
established and by the year end MDM had become the leading product of
