David J. Hunter – Bi Incorporated (biac)

DAVID J. HUNTER is President and CEO of BI Incorporated, which leads the worldwide criminal justice market by providing integrated, state-of-the- art technology systems and treatment services. Mr. Hunter holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from Heidelberg College, has done graduate work at George Washington University and at Case Western Reserve School of Law. In 1996 he graduated from the three year Owners/Presidents Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Mr. Hunter served for five years in the Peace Corps management in Washington, DC, including a stint as Director of the Africa region. Later, he owned and operated a commercial real estate company in Washington, DC until 1981. Mr. Hunter joined BI Incorporated as General Manager in 1981. At that time, BI's business focused primarily on electronic identification feed management systems for the dairy industry. Mr. Hunter served as Operations Manager and Vice President of Operations from January 1982 to July 1982, then Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from July 1982 to April 1985. In December 1982 he was elected to the company's Board of Directors, and in April 1985 he became BI's President and Chief Executive Officer. He led the company's diversification into the criminal justice market in the fall of 1983. Currently, BI holds 70 percent domestic market share and 90 percent international market share for electronic home arrest monitoring, through contracts with approximately 2,000 local, state and federal corrections agencies. In addition to the 75,000 offenders currently using BI's electronic systems, the company also provides supervision and treatment services to over 40,000 other offenders. Profile
