David Hawthorne – Lodgian Inc (lodn)

DAVID HAWTHORNE is President and Chief Executive Officer of Lodgian, Inc. In this capacity, he leads one of the largest independent hotel owner/operators in North America. Lodgian owns and operates in excess of 100 hotel and resort properties in 32 states and Canada. The hotels are primarily full service, providing food and beverage service, as well as meeting facilities. Substantially all of Lodgian's hotels are affiliated with nationally recognized hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Radisson, Clarion and Starwood. Previously, Mr. Hawthorne held executive positions with Tower Records, Premier Cruise Lines and Alliance Entertainment Corporation. During his tenure at these companies, he developed and implemented restructuring plans, which resulted in major operating and financial improvements. Before that, he was also the Chairman and CEO of Servico, Inc., the predecessor of Lodgian. He joined the company shortly after bankruptcy filing and directed the reorganization plans and emergence from Chapter 11. Before joining Servico, he held positions with Kendavis Holding Company in Texas, was a consultant at Zolfo, Cooper and Co. in New York, a consulting firm, and worked with Gardiner, Inc., in Tampa, a French- owned phosphate miner and producer of phosphate products.
