DAVID GOULD joined Witness Systems as President and CEO in February 1999
to build on the company's strong leadership position in call monitoring
and to launch a strategic expansion into performance optimization
solutions for contact centers. Having held leadership roles with both
start-up and larger technology companies, Mr. Gould offers a broad range
of experience that touches every aspect of the business. A proven
industry leader with a breadth of knowledge in launching and growing
businesses in emerging markets, he possesses sound experience in
predicting market developments, setting and adjusting strategy, and
leading organizations amidst changing market dynamics. Following its
third consecutive year of doubling revenues, growing the employee base
and increasing market share, Witness Systems is well positioned to
evolve into new areas of the call center market. Mr. Gould is leading
the company in these initiatives by expanding on its industry-leading
offerings through the introduction of new applications, as well as by
broadening its existing leadership position. Mr. Gould joined Witness
Systems from Boston-based InStream Corporation, where he served as
Chairman and CEO of the early-stage Internet electronic commerce company
targeting the healthcare market. Prior to his roles with InStream, he
served as President of DCA's Remote Access Division (now Attachmate
Corporation), where his organization firmly established itself as one of
the three leaders in that emerging software market. Mr. Gould also has
worked with Management Science America (MSA), where he served as Vice
President of the Financial Applications Division and Vice President of
the Client/Server Business Unit. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree
in Econometrics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from
