DAVID ANDERSON took over as the President and Chief Executive
Officer of MithraGen, Inc., in mid-2001, and was elected to the
additional position of Chairman of the Board in 2002. He has
extensive experience managing successful, early-stage
biotechnology companies, previously serving as Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer and as a Director of Tanox,
Inc. As COO and a member of the Steering Committee overseeing
development of Tanox's anti-IgE products, including Xolair_, Mr.
Anderson was actively involved in guiding the development of
Tanox's product pipeline and expansion of its production and
regulatory capabilities. Mr. Anderson also was responsible for
the negotiation and implementation of various business
development activities and collaborations and directed Tanox's
financing activities, leading to one of the largest IPOs ever
completed in the biotech industry. Prior to joining Tanox in
1987, Mr. Anderson was engaged in the private practice of law,
which included experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing
transactions and intellectual property licensing. Mr. Anderson
received his JD in 1976 from the University of Houston and has a
