DANIEL M. MCGURL, a 25-year veteran of the computer industry, left his
position as senior vice president at Boston-based State Street Bank to
found Bottomline Technologies in 1988. Prior to his tenure with State
Street Bank, McGurl held a variety of executive posts at IBM, including
Director of Marketing Planning and Director of Far East Operations.
Since founding the company, he has steered the company to consistent
growth and profitability. Mr. McGurl has played a key role in the
development of the company's flagship PayBase suite, with particular
emphasis on Electronic Commerce and Internet payment solutions. Under
his leadership, Bottomline has developed and maintained its reputation
