Christopher Vieth – Dow Jones & Co (dj)

CHRISTOPHER VIETH is a vice president and chief financial officer of Dow Jones & Company, Inc. Prior to assuming his current position in July 2002, Mr. Vieth had been vice president, finance since March 2001 and comptroller since he joined Dow Jones in July 2000. He was responsible for the company's general accounting, business unit finance, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, internal and external financial reporting and accounting services activities. Before joining the company, Mr. Vieth had been vice president and corporate controller of Barnes and Noble, Inc., since May 1999, responsible for the company's retail and distribution accounting functions. He joined the company in December 1995 as director of finance and was named director of finance and operations in 1998. He also worked for the Amerada Hess Corporation in a number of financial positions in the company's refining, marketing and retail divisions from 1987 to 1995. Mr. Vieth received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from St. Francis College in Pennsylvania and is a licensed CPA.
