Charles Johnson – General Datacomm Industries Inc (gdc)

CHARLES P. JOHNSON, CEO of General DataComm Industries, Inc. (GDC) founded the company in early 1969 soon after the Carterfone decision opened the US telecommunications market to competition. After receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, Mr. Johnson joined the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a Transmission Engineer. He later moved to ITT Kellogg where, as Director of Marketing, he spearheaded the company's thrust into the systems integration business by providing major strategic communication networks for the US Government. Later he served as Vice President/General Manager of Adler Communications and as Group Communications President of Litton Industries. As Chairman of General DataComm, Mr. Johnson has led GDC as a global supplier of voice, video, and data networking solutions in the rapidly expanding telecommunications marketplace. Profile
