Charles Atwood – Harrah’s Entertainment Inc (het)

Charles ATWOOD is Vice President and Treasurer for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. His responsibilities include all Treasury functions of the company, as well as asset management and project finance. He is also responsible for the investor relations function. Atwood joined the company in 1979, where he worked on the acquisition of Harrah's by Holiday Inns, Inc. He moved to investor relations in 1980 and handled this function throughout the transitions of the company from Holiday Inns to Holiday Corporation, the sale of the Holiday Inn brand, the spin-off of The Promus Companies, and the spin-off of the company's hotel brands to Promus Hotel Corporation. Harrah's Entertainment was created as a result of the last spin-off. Atwood has served on numerous special projects and task forces. In August 1995, Institutional Investor magazine named Atwood one of the ten best investor relations officers in America. In March 1998, Harrah's received honorable mention for Best Investor Relations Officer among all U.S. companies under market capitalization's less than $10 billion from Investor Relations magazine.
