CHARLES A. BAKER was named Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of
The Liposome Company, Inc. in December, 1989. Just prior to joining the
Company, he was a business development and licensing advisor to several
small biotechnology companies. Mr. Baker served in several capacities in
senior management at Squibb Corporation (now Bristol-Myers Squibb
Company), including the positions of Group Vice President, Squibb
Corporation and President, Squibb International. He also held various
senior executive positions at Abbott Laboratories and Pfizer, Inc. Mr.
Baker received an undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College and a
J.D. degree from Columbia University. He also serves as a director of
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc.,
both of which are biotechnology companies. Mr. Baker is a member of the
Council of Visitors of the Marine Biology Laboratory, Woods Hole,
Massachusetts, a non-for-profit research organization. Profile
