CARL ERIK SANDO is Senior Financial Analyst with Elcon Securities in
Oslo, Norway. He joined Elcon Securities in 1987 after graduating from
the Norwegian School of Business. With a strong emphasis on
macroeconomic fundamentals, the focus has always been on the financial
sector. As in several other countries, the recent decade is
characterized by collapses and hefty rebounds both within the banking,
mortgage and insurance industries in Norway. In 1992-1993 Sando was part
of Elcon Securities' team working for the Board of Administrators with
the refinancing of UNI Storebrand --Norway's largest insurance company.
In 1990 Sando conducted the first ever analysis on the municipal
hydroelectric power production industry, which is another high-priority
area of Elcon Securities. Recently, Sando has been involved in research
on certain technology stocks. Being a competition speed-skater up until
1990, the favored leisure activities are now cross-country skiing and
bicycling --plus guitar playing. Profile
