BRIAN HAYWARD is Chief Executive Officer of Agricore United. He has a
Master's degree in Agricultural Economics from McGill University. He
moved to Winnipeg in 1981 to join United Grain Growers, working in a
variety of operating and corporate positions. In 1987, Mr. Hayward took
on the challenge of leading UGG's Grain Marketing Division, which
involved overseeing both domestic and international trading activities
as well as the company's Transportation Department. In 1991, he was
appointed Chief Executive Officer of UGG. When the company merged with
Agricore in 2001 to form Agricore United, Mr. Hayward became Chief
Executive Officer of Western Canada's largest agri-business. He is
responsible for managing the complete business operations of the
company. Mr. Hayward has been involved in a number of industry and
community organizations. He served on the Boards of Directors of the
Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange, which
included a term as Board Chairman. He is a member of the Arthritis
Society's Joints in Motion marathon team and is presently a member of
the Board of the Arthritis Society of Manitoba. Profile
