BRIAN HAYWARD, CEO of United Grain Growers Ltd., is a native of Montreal
and he has a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from McGill
University. He moved to Winnipeg in 1981 to join United Grain Growers,
working in a variety of operating and corporate jobs through the
mid-1980s. In 1987 he took on the challenge of leading UGG's Grain
Marketing Division, which involved overseeing both domestic and
international trading activities, as well as the company's
Transportation Department. In 1991 he was appointed Chief Executive
Officer. In that capacity he is responsible for managing the complete
business operations of the company. He has been involved in a number of
industry and community organizations, including the Royal Winnipeg
Ballet, Canada West Foundation, and the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange,
including a term as Board Chairman. He is presently on the Board of the
Arthritis Society of Manitoba. Profile

Mr. Hayward: The company started in 1906, but in 1993 demutualized and
is currently a publicly traded company
