DONALD R. JOHNSTON is Vice President/Group Publisher at American
Health Consultants, publishers of BioWorld Today, the newspaper
of record for the biotechnology industry, BioWorld International,
BioWorld Financial Watch and BioWorld Online. He has directed the
BioWorld group since its acquisition by American Health
Consultants in 1994. During that time, the group has expanded
enormously, adding numerous products including BioWorld
International, The BioWorld Genomics Review and The BioWorld
Phase III Report. All of the BioWorld publications were
eventually combined into the comprehensive BioWorld Online site,
including: BioWorld Today, BioWorld International, BioWorld
Financial Watch, BioScan: The Worldwide Biotechnology Reporting
Service, The BioWorld Executive Compensation Report, The BioWorld
Phase III Report, The BioWorld Genomics Review, The BioWorld
Biotechnology State of the Industry Report, and BioWorld
Snapshots! BioWorld co-publishes The Biotechnology Venture
Capital Directory, along with BioAbility LLC. Mr. Johnston also
is Publisher of the BBI Group at American Health Consultants,
which focuses on medical technology and includes Medical Device
Daily and The BBI Newsletter, and The Clinical Group, which is
targeted to physicians and includes publications such as Internal
Medicine Alert, Clinical Oncology Alert and Neurology Alert. He
is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and has
a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University in New
