Bill Stensrud – Ensemble Communications Inc

BILL STENSRUD is President & CEO of Ensemble Communications Inc. Mr. Stensrud graduated from MIT in 1971 majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He held research positions at MIT and AT&T and then held a variety of management positions of increasing responsibility at AT&T and ROLM. In 1985 he became the founding Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for StrataCom Inc. Mr. Stensrud was responsible for the marketing organization and for the development of the OEM and international channels of distribution. He also played a key role in the creation and development of the frame relay market. Mr. Stensrud became the President of Primary Access in San Diego in 1992. Primary Access was acquired by 3Com in June, 1995. After the acquisition Mr. Stensrud ran a group of WAN business units for 3Com, including Primary Access. In 1996 Mr. Stensrud was involved in the leveraged buy- out of Paradyne Corp. from Lucent Technologies. He was both an investor and an active manager of the new Paradyne Corporation. He served on the Board of Directors of Paradyne Corporation, GlobeSpan Incorporated and Juniper Networks, a Silicon Valley networking equipment company. In 1997 Mr. Stensrud joined Enterprise Partners as a General Partner. Enterprise Partners is the premier venture firm focusing on high technology and health related businesses and has a leading position in San Diego and Southern California.
